'The Perfect 36' t-shirt
In the United States of America, on August 18, 1920, the thirty-sixth state, Tennessee, ratified the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. Eight days later, it was formally put into federal law. That November, over 8 million women voted in the Presidential election. It took more than 70 years for the women's suffrage movement to achieve this right to vote. Women and men across the county celebrated that final state needed as The Perfect 36. With this shirt, we celebrate women in all states and that hard-fought victory that came so very close to not happening (one Tennessee legislator, Harry Burn, switched his vote to yes, with his mother's letter in his pocket which asked him to vote to ratify. This one vote changed the entire course of ratification and gave the 19th Amendment life!). Cheers to The Perfect 36! Wear it with pride and whenever someone asks you what this means, tell them as this is meant to be a conversation starter and reminder of how important every vote is.
10% off all proceeds will be donated to the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Monument, LLC. With the unveiling of the monument celebrating The Perfect 36 in Nashville's Centennial Park on August 26, 2016, funds are still being raised until it has its permanent location at Centennial Park. The statue features Tennessee women who fought hard to make this dream of voting a reality.
This shirt is a unisex tri-blend, meaning it won't shrink! Fits TRUE TO SIZE and is perfect for casual wear and light enough if you want to don it for your next workout. We went through many t-shirts on the quest for a super soft tee that we'd all want to reach for time and time again, and this is it! The ink is even eco-friendly! Example: size 8 would be a medium for a t-shirt that fits well and is a little loose, won't hug. Size down if you want a more fitted look.
Note: All t-shirts will ship within a week of ordering.
